Syfy has started playing these, have watched the first three episodes, and Im diggin it.
I like the Capt, the engineer is friggen adorable, and I like the dynamic of the pilot and the first officer being married. Also find it interesting the ship doesnt have any weapons.
I also see where SGU got its cinematography cues when it comes to the various ships and vessels in the show. (Which BTW, SGU just started its last ten episodes. first one was effing AWESOME)
Good recommendation Cobby.

I enjoy SGU have to check comcast on demand for it. Firefly is a classic, love that show.... sad it got hosed on primetime tv. Nathan Fillion is doing Castle now, and Inora is doing V. Have you seen Serenity yet?

I have not seen Serenity, is that before the Firefly timeline in the cannon?
The first episode (of the new SGU season, and supposedly its last) was Monday. Ive watched every episode and liked it more than any other Stargate show. ITs sofa king good.

Serenity is the "final episode" in terms if timeline.
one of the SG shows had a cameo apperance from a firefly ship flying overhead in a "background" kinda extra cameo type deal.
I pretty much swear by firefly. hence our Firefly themed wedding reception (pics on facebook) and our Firefly themed home
ballz: the dork in you will appreciate this: i have the replica malcolm reynolds pistol, a custom handmade holster, the offical replica browncoat. all in all the malcolm reynolds costume cost me $913. (well add $50 to that because i recently had to reorder the pants since i put on a few pounds >_<)
oh and PS: now you start to understand where ig ot my PSN-ID from

Read the Wiki, this show didnt get a second season for a lack of its fans trying. I'm liking it. Looks like it was the victim of FOX giving it a shitty budget, and than trying to place it in a timeslot that a scifi niche show wouldnt stand a chance in, no matter how good it is. Will have to get the movie as well.

Jayne, I feel retarded now... I saw your name and was like why does that sound familar and now it all clicks.
Balz, the show went to shit because of Fox. They put it on and then aired the episodes out of order which screwed everything up. this show could have lasted 7-8 season easy.

I know it may not of worked within the context of the show, but your wife is sooo a Kaylee.
That gun is sweet looking. My fav use of it so far is when the Fed had the docs sister and he just draws and fires with no hesitation. Awesome.
Cool shit Cobb, time for some Heroics?

yeah she is deff a Kaylee; but, as you stated, we were trying to keep a context of the show.
I'm am deff the Mal type; However for video games i went with Jayne because of his "fondness" for grenades (you will understand once you see the movie, ballz) and from Americas Army game, to SOCOM: FTB, to COD: MW1,2,BO; you will find that i too have a fondness for grenades. So i found it only fitting.

Just watched the "last" episode that SciFi played of the 14. "Objects in Space". That was an awesome episode. It was a good "gelling" episode for River. Im starting to fucking hate tv with all the short lived SciFi shows that are awesome but get canned.
Now there is a movie to watch right?

I have the box set and watch it all the time. I love Train Job and Out of Gas. I didn't get into it until right before Serenity came out. Fox really fucked up on this one.

Have you read any of the books that are out? I was looking to get my Firefly fix somehow and I figure I would look for books.

I watched Serenity (again) last weekend. I so love the part where the Assassin thinks he has Mal trumped, waiting for him to come out of the cloud thing, and boom, a shit ton of Reavers come out right behind Serenity. He is like Fire on the Reavers, JUST SHOOT SOMETHING!
Epic
Of course, River standing there silhouetted holding two axes, amongst a room full of dead Reavers, fucking awesome. Fox REAALLY dropped the ball on that one.

Back in 2006 there was talk of a Firefly MMO. A friend whom I met playing Galaxies knew one of the developers so we were all psyched about it. I think they lost funding and it got canned. it was going to a sandbox style mmo where you could carve out your own little piece of the universe. All I wanted was to be a smuggler with my own ship and a crew. Browncoats for life! lol
I'm still looking into Firefly books. When I find some I'll pass it on.
