Right now i have a Ruger sr9c, compact 9mm pistol, and i'm thinking about selling it and getting a new/used pistol.

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations.  I am looking for another 9mm pistol, but one that is full-sized.  Mainly used for target shooting and home protection if i need it.  Also i don't want to spend over 650ish.

I am sure Cobby will weigh in on this, and throw a recommendation for his Px4 Storm. It is a nice weapon. For that kinda loot though you could upgrade to a .40. Cops swear by them because of the larger wound channel it creates (read stopping power) and still maintain a level of accuracy not generally associated with .45's.

With that being said, you could get the fore mentioned http://www.budsgunsh...STORM 40SW 10RD PX4 Storm

Or the Glock 23 http://www.budsgunsh...d Fixed Sights/

A Taurus Millenium Pro http://www.budsgunsh...oducts_id/55249

Or an FN Herstal .40 http://www.budsgunsh... 40S 14R BK/BK/

This Saturday I am going to build my AR15, Ill post pics once I have it. For me hand guns are all about reliability, and the trigger pull. I am safe, I do not fuck around when it comes to guns, so I dont need a 35 pound trigger pull to contend with when I want to accurately shoot the bad guy in the small amount of time I will have to defend myself.

I want a smooth, predictable snap on the action. Less of a chance to pull the bullet left or right. If you goto your local dealer, alot of the time they will have a "floor model" that you can use to try it out. I would suggest testing some, see what ya like.

i was trying to keep with the 9mm due to ammo being a little cheaper.  I was hoping that there was going to be a gun show nearby (living in Northeast TN you would think they would have one every week) but theres not going to be one here for a while, so ill probably just keep my gun for a while.

Buds guns is linked in my above post. You  buy it online, they ship it to your nearest dealer. They usually have a "transfer" fee.  Buds prices are good enough that with the transfer fee, youre paying what you would at a "gun show". Which isnt too much cheaper than retail in my experience. There is one in Tampa every month, and its packed, everytime.

Well i would really like to sell the one i have now before i get another one.  Buds looks like they have good prices i would just need to get rid of my gun now.

As bald stated I swear by my Px4 Storm, which also comes in 9mm.
I myself prefer the .40, but whatever you prefer :)

The Px4 costs about $636.00 when I bought mine. Including background check ect ect.

Weighs 2lbs fully loaded. Features interchangeable back straps, swappable mag release button that can be put on the left or right (right by default). And comes in 3 sizes. Full size, compact, and sub-compact.
Has a rotating barrel which reduces recoil providing better follow-up shots.
Full polymer frame, steel slide, inertial firing pin, and other safety features ensuring it only goes boom when you want it to. Easy, tool-less field stripping, breaks down in 4 basic parts. I've field stripped and cleaned mine while in the bathroom one time. I stress "easy". :)
Also has stil glow in the dark 3 dot sights and a bottom rail for laser, light, or even bayonet :P

I trust my life and those around me to my Storm!

PS: has interchange magazines with the Cx4 Storm carbine (provided you get the Cx4 style model) so if you want a carbine as some point you save money on magazines since both take the same.

Thanks for everyones advice.  The gun range here rents out guns to shoot and ill have to see if they have the Px4 storm there, it sounds like its a pretty good gun and apparently pretty easy to clean.
