Top Gear

What a coincidence. I just finished watching an episode. Every day at lunch the IT team takes over the board room and watches an episode.
Words cannot describe how much I love this show, yet I only discovered it about 2 months ago.

The specials are definitely the best to watch - US Special, Vietnam, Botswana, Bolivia. The only one I haven't seen yet (I think) is the Arctic Special.

This is also on another channel. I can't remember which one, but I get it on Direct TV on one of the science channels or spike or something

They've started an American version of the show on the History Channel (don't ask why).
I've seen the 2 episodes so far, and while it's not bad, it's just not the same. I'm sure it'll take some time though.

Agreed. I dont like how they do not acknowledge the English version. Its like an insult to my intelligence acting as if they are the only TopGear on US TV. However the show is still fun to watch and I agree with Andy, it just needs some time to develop its own character.

I know Adam Ferrara is the comedian of the show, but Im finding Rutlegde is naturally funny in his own way. Im used to seeing him as the "color" reporter down in the pits on NASCAR Raceday so its good to see him out of that element. I like how he seems to make statements about vehicles that are honest whether they are flattering or not.
!
In my eyes, its nice to have two TopGears to watch!

Top Gear is my favorite show ever. The specials are by far the best ones they have, not to say the other episodes are great either.

Top Gear US is pretty good too, i think we just have to give them time to get better because the British version wasn't great when it started and it took them a while to get where they are today. I don't like how the US version is recreating a lot scenes from the British, i think they need to be more original.

What I don't like is how they pretend there isn't another TopGear. It would be fun I think to get all of em together, and make a huge special even have two Stigs, lookin at each other like they were in a mirror.

I agree, I hate that the US version blatantly recreates challenges already done by the UK version. It would be nice if they at least thought of something original.

You can thank Jeremy Clarkson he is the one that pitched it to NBC or some network. The show was his idea I do believe.

The original Top Gear, or the new one after they split into Top Gear and Fifth Gear?

Yeah that is a pretty big problem too, because i remember that the UK has acknowledged that there is a US version or was going to be a US version at that time, it should go both ways.

I think that it would be pretty awesome if they got together for a special even though it would probably turn into a "Bash the Colonies" episode, but it would still be pretty entertaining.

Sort of like when Top Gear met up with the German equivalent and competed against each other. Very entertaining episode.

Wel I have downloaded 7 us top gears and watched 3. It seems to me that they are copying previous uk top gears.. I think they need time to gel, but also I think they could of found better people to host it.

Lol i forgot about that episode, it was pretty funny and they did bash Germany a lot and the presenters (even though the girl on that show dominates the nurburgring).

Okay watched 7 episodes and I still think the hosts are terrible. There was 2 or 3 episodes I couldn't even finish i personally think the show will be cancelled.

You have to admit though, its better than any car show here. Car shows here are just glorified half hour commercials for Mothers Polish or some other manufacturers shit.

Its rough I admit, and I won't argue that it might be canceled, but it just might have a chance cause it is that "different" kinda car show from the norm here.

See you got the Ifad. :/

I don't know if you guys have seen the Alaskan episode (the US version that came on last sunday) with the American trucks, but i thought it was actually pretty good. It was also pretty funny and i would recommend watching it if you haven't.

While i'm (fairly) sure the game won't be at rFactor's level, all the review/gameplay videos I've seen so far of it are using wheels and they look fine. I've seen Fanatecs and Logitech wheels in various F1 2010 videos. I'll be home playing in about an hour so I'll let you know how it is.

Also, Dirt 2 works beautifully with my DFGT wheel. The first Dirt, however, is all but unplayable. Horrible input lag...

Joined up, btw. Hopefully there's gonna be some clean F1 2010 races to be found. Can't stand the console style crash-fests.
